You surely feel that its hard to top the excitement that challenging grammar can elicit. Is none or not one correct? Was or were7. Has been or have been'? The answers to questions such as these clearly form the backbone of our society, the machinery that enables it to run effectively, the meaning of life even. Well, that may not be true, but there is a certain joy to be found in Sentence Correction questions. They’re short, they’re designed to be answered quickly, and they] generally test a few, well-defined rules; yet they still constitute one-third of the Verbal questions on the GMAT. Nevertheless, as you surely know from experience, not all Sentence Correction questions are created equal; some can only be described as very difficult. In this section, you'll see examples of the hardest questions, the onesthat push the boundaries of the “well-defined rules” to determine whether you really, really know them, including their occasional exceptions. Once you master the principles discussed and tested in this section, you'll be able to conquer the GMATs Sentence Correction questions, and as an added bonus, you’ll also be able to correct the grammar of your friends and scoff in disgust when you read “between associates” rather than “among associates” in the newspaper.
