In fashion design, we should integrate with the international trend and pay more attention to the national culture.In order to inherit and propagate the local culture, this article analyzes the innovative application of traditional Chinese element in fashion design, try to promote the development of Chinese costume enterprises. Introduction The concept of "Chinese element" was proposed in 2007. The concept points out that: all the images, signs and national customs which condense the traditional cultural spirit, embody the dignity and interest of Chinese Nation, and was accepted by the majority of Chinese people (including Overseas Chinese) can be regarded as "Chinese element"[1].It not only includes traditional utensils, characters and marks, manual skills, color and patterns, but also includes Chinese culture and spirit.
