The Freshman Challenge
Teaching Objectives:
Let students know about the challenges and solutions that the freshman may encounter and form a correct and positive attitude towards life and studying;
Identify the topic sentences, the main information and relevant details by skimming and checking method.

Lead-in (choose one in three)
The teacher collects the difficulties or challenges of students (anonymously) in advance and puts them into a box. During class, some of the students will be asked to extract the paper and give corresponding suggestions or solutions. If they cant give any advice, they can ask others for help.
Some students founded /joined some clubs before National Day, and the clubs are still recruiting new members. The teacher can let students share the clubs they have founded or want to join in, and tell others why. Teacher can share them some photos as well.
