SC8886 PRELIMINARY DATASHEET DRAFT SOUTHCHIP SEMICONDUCTOR SOUTHCHIP CONFIDENTIAL, SUBJECT TO CHANGE Synchronous, Bi-directional Buck-Boost Charger Controller with NVDC PowerPath management and I2C interface 1 Descriptions 2 Features SC8886 is a synchronous buck-boost charger, which ⚫ Wide input range: 3.5V to 24V, 29V sustainable supports buck mode, boost mode and buck-boost mode ⚫ High efficiency Buck-Boost conversion during forward charging or reverse discharging operation. ⚫ Buck-Boost battery charger for 1 to 4 cell batteries SC8886 manages 1 to 4 cells battery charging from wide input range from 3.5V to 24V, supporting pre-charge, ⚫ Charging management including precharge, fast constant current charge, constant voltage charge. The charge, constant voltage charge, auto-wake up battery discharging mode supports wide output range from ⚫ Reverse discharging mode, output voltage range: 3V 3V to 20.8V with 8mV resolution. SC8886 is compliant with to 20.8V with 8 mV resolution, comply with USB PD 3.0 Intel IMVP8/IMVP9 specification including system power, input current, charging or discharging current monitoring standards and processor hot indication. SC8886 adopts Narrow-VDC ⚫ NVDC PowerPath management and dynamic power power path management, which automatically regulates the management current and voltage and controls the flow of power.
