Influencers, the product of new-age technology, are affecting the lives of contemporary students. From a positive perspective, some influencers may guide students to develop their values in a healthy direction. “The most beautiful mother”—Wu Juping caught the child falling from the tenth floor with her hands; Fu Yuanhui, called “Primordial Girl”, perfectly interpreted the Olympic spirit of constantly striving and transcending oneself… What impressed me most was the “model principal”—Zhang Guimei. With her tenacious belief, she founded a girls’ high school and planted the seed of hope to the girls in the poor mountains, so that the girls there could change their fate through knowledge and become valuable persons to the society. We students have been moved by Ms. Zhang’s great deeds and therefore have a good motivation to study. These influencers’ popularity is not by marketing hype, but by setting the best examples for us through their own actions. However, some influencers started at a low point but got high return, easy to bringing incorrect values to students, which is contrary to the natural law of success through personal efforts and hard struggle. It will result in students’ impetuous and utilitarian mentality. According to a 2018 survey report, 80 percent of primary school students dreamed of becoming Internet influencers just because it’s a low-cost but high-paid job !
