currenttohighpowerLEDwithonly4externalcomponents.TheMBI6650isspecificallydesignedwithhysteretic

PFMcontrolschemetoenhancetheefficiencyupto93%.OutputcurrentoftheMBI6650canbeprogrammedby

anexternalresistor,andLEDdimmingcanbecontrolledviapulsewidthmodulation(PWM)throughDIMpin.In

addition,theembeddedsoftstartfunctioneliminatestheinrushcurrentwhilethepowerison.TheMBI6650also

featuresundervoltagelockout(UVLO),overtemperatureprotection,LEDopen-circuitprotectionandLED

short-circuitprotectiontoprotectICfrombeingdamaged.

Additionally,toensurethesystemreliability,theMBI6650isbuiltwiththethermalprotection(TP)functionanda

thermalpad.TheTPfunctionprotectsICfromovertemperature(140°C).Also,thethermalpadenhancesthe

powerdissipation.Asaresult,alargeamountofcurrentcanbehandledsafelyinonepackage.
