中国古诗意境的误译
The Mistranslation of the Imagery of the Chinese Classical Poetry
Abstract
Since early 1980s, many translators and scholars from both home and abroad began to translate Chinese classical poetry into English.However, not every piece of poem is translated as exactly as the original one.And one of the most important reason is that the imagery of the Chinese classical poetry is difficult to understand and translate. However the image is the soul of a piece of poem, if the image is lost or changed when translated, the original poems will be soulless or mistranslated.
In this paper, the imagery will be discussed from its definition, composition and its aesthetic features.And also it introduces the manifestation of the mistranslation of images in poems, and last part introduces the main translation techniques of image.
From this article, the image in Chinese classical poems can be translated more accurately.
