Along with the development of the traffic construction and the unceasingly increasing traffic volume, the operation of the rigid-frame arch bridge is endangered because of the diseases. In addition, many bridges have been continuous aging and damaged, so the inconsistency between the operation and safety of the rigid-frame arch bridge is serious. Through a large number of inspection information and finite element analysis, this dissertation makes systematical research on the mechanical performance and strengthening design method of rigid-frame arch bridge. The position、characteristic and cause of diseases in rigid frame arch bridge are statistical analyzed through to the domestic existing statistical data, and weak force position is pointed out. A three-dimensional finite element model was built about an actual bridge. The difference between experimental values and FEM values are analyzed and the applicability and precision of finite element analysis are proved. The mechanical performance of rigid-frame arch bridge is analyzed by finite element method. The weak positions of rigid-frame arch bridge such as the solid webs, joints and diaphragms are pointed out. The mechanical characteristics of unstrengthened and strengthened rigid-framed arch bridge in weak position are revealed. The variances mechanical laws of rigid-frame arch bridge are got due to the different strengthened position. On this basis, the local stress of the joints in rigid-frame arch bridge is analyzed by finite element method, and the stress laws of the joints under the concentrated load and uniformly distributed load are confirmed.
