Her masterpiece is Jane Eyre. Jane Eyre is a novel often considered ahead of its time due to its portrayal of the development of a thinking and passionate young woman who is both individualistic, desiring for a full life, while also highly moral. It is sometimes regarded as an important early feminist (or proto-feminist) novel. The most important point of the thesis lies in the female consciousness in Jane Eyre. And then the different point rests with finding out the reasonable angles to clarify the female consciousness. I start my paper from a study of the female consciousness in Jane Eyre, especially the era background, Jane Eyre’s pursuit of independence and freedom and Jane Eyre’s love views. I have done my utmost to collect all kinds of materials and ask for my supervisor’s guidance to support my perspective.
