Since 1990s, because of the influence of economic globalization and market economic, the society has had many e- conomic and social problems. In recent years the city poverty group and unemployment people have ap- ， peared, which brings heavy pressure and threat to the country and the society. Through discussing the condi- tion of income, consumption and social life of urban poor families and Community distribution of urban poverty in China, the paper analyzes the basic characteristics of urban poor families to give a detailed intro- duction of urban poverty and describes the present situation of urban poverty, in order to illustrate the necessi- ty of solving the urban poverty.
