Wind power generation has the trend of being integrated to power grids as the form of large-scale wind farms, which influences on power grids. This paper discusses in general terms the problems which are encountered by the developers of wind power generation projects and by power grids when dealing with projects to integrate wind farms to power grids. The influence includes balance of generation and consumption, frequency and active power control, voltage and reactive power control, reserve management, power flow, stability, power quality, secondary system due to the characteristics of dynamic and stochastic performance of wind power generation.
