GUI and data description The inverse fatigue manual procedure allows to calculate maximum allowed local stress value leading to a fixed fatigue life in initiation. Required data are: o objective fatigue life o material (selection in Built-In or user database) o scale effect parameter (E) o Influence of structural configuration (C) o loading ratio (R) o technological processes coefficients (Ti) The Execute button makes it possible to start calculation and to display the .dossier result file. The Close button makes it possible to quit the window without execution. The Help button opens a window describing T4 and T5 parameters definition. 2. Input file format description The data required by the user are contained in a data file named $pbname.don . This file is directly created by the Graphic User Interface but can also be created in ASCII file with the following format: OBJECTIVE FATIGUE LIFE 1E5 Required fatigue life MATERIAL 2024-T3 Material name SCALE EFFECT 0.79 Scale effect coeff.
