Choked with emotions, I grasped his coat tightly and kept whispering “Thank you.” ; Then I saw Ryan walking towards me. I remembered that morning on the bus he experienced the same awkward moment. But I laughed crazily with others , totally ignoring his embarrassment. How helpless he must have felt! Realizing this, a strong surge of guilt washed over me. Seeing Ryan approaching closer, I thought to myself, “He wouldn’t miss this good opportunity to return the favor. He would certainly laugh at me and tease me bitterly.” I wanted to run away , but thinking of my torn jeans, I could do nothing but stand there frozen and wait for my punishment. ; But Ryan didn’t laugh. Instead, he offered me his jacket to cover up my split jeans and lent me his phone so that I could call my mum to bring some jeans. Words failed me when I tried to express my gratitude. With tears welling up in my eyes, I hugged him tightly and kept whispering, “Thank you”. The next day when I saw him again, I plucked up all my courage to apologize for laughing at him on the bus. Ryan regarded it as no big deal, but my own shameful experience and Ryan’s kind response taught me about sympathy for others. Thanks to Ryan, I can honestly say that Monday was still a great day!
